Yes. Students can choose to do just one, or both, but everyone does the same course.

Never been boating before? The NSW boat licence course is a great place to start. Our flexible training delivery means we can adjust our teachings to the experience/knowledge of the students at each course.

Adults (16 +): A NSW drivers licence or proof of age card from Service NSW. Whilst physical cards are preferred, digital versions through the Service NSW app are also acceptable.

Kids (12 up to 16): Birth certificate + mum or dad (with their own ID as above).

NOTE: all ID presented must either be the original or a JP certified copy. We can accept ID beyond what’s listed above – click here for details.

Doing a boat licence course doesn’t guarantee a pass on your first attempt. The training delivered on the day and our helpful study materials are more than enough to smash the exam, however sometimes some students might need a 2nd attempt or some additional tuition at a later date which we’re happy to help with.

Students over the age of 12 but under the age of 16 will need their mum or dad present at commencement of the course to complete their licence application. Pending room capacity, the parent is welcome to stay for the course, or leave and come back at the end.

NOTE: the parent declaration on the application paperwork cannot be completed by anyone other than the direct parent of the child, or the childs legal guardian (who must present the appropriate legal documentation).

The course tuition takes just under 4 hours with the testing commencing  immediately after. Course timings cannot be reduced as it a requirement by Transport for NSW.

Required: acceptable ID (such as a drivers licence).

Recommended: printed worksheet (given upon booking), writing utensil, snacks.

The NSW boat licence course is theory based and delivered in a classroom setting. We are not currently offering on-water training at most locations. If you require this, please contact our team.
